- perfect between two computers

I tried to connect 2 computers to third one using two of those cables and... did not works.It works only between 2 machines. I wonder if there is any other device that will make it works.Also, it would be nice to have sort of visual view of files (photos).If there is such device, I would buy it in blink of eye.
