INTRODUCTION
The USBG-4SU2MLA is an USB2.0 Hub that comply with the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Specifications Revision 2.0 and work up to 480Mbps. It provides 4 downstream facing ports with standard A-type USB2.0 connectors. It supports screw lock features for both upstream (USB type A) and downstream (USB type B) connectors with the screw lock USB cables. It prevents from disconnecting the USB cables accidentally.
With NEC uPD720114 USB2.0 controller, it works backward compatible either when any one of downstream port is connected to an USB1.1 compliant device, or when the upstream port is connected to a USB1.1 compliant host.
The USBG-4SU2MLA also provides an unique feature to work in the bus-powered mode without an external AC power adapter. It's very convenient for light power consumption USB devices to work in this mode without an extra power supply. Only plug then go ahead. Besides, the external DC jack is used for self-powered mode if you need more power on the 4 downstream ports.
Since the USB is the most popular external port for the devices to connect to PCs, the USBG-4SU2MLA provides an ideal solution to expand your USB ports immediately and save your investment.

- Unfortunately This Does Not Charge Devices if Not Connected to a Computer

This is a nice hub. I specifically bought it because of the metal ears on it that allow mounting it with screws. I actually wanted to charge some USB devices with this and I figured since it had it's own power source that I could do that without plugging it into the USB port of a computer. Unfortunately though if the USB is not plugged into a PC then it will not charge your devices even if the hub itself is plugged into AC power. Once you plug the USB into a PC however then charging will occur. So if you just want to utilize this as a charging station PC free then don't get this one, instead look for their other device model CG-UC4AQC3.When used for it's actual intention, as a USB hub, it works great. It's a solid metal case and the mounting ears are great. It was just my mistake assuming I could power devices without a PC.

I bought this for the purpose of mounting underneath a desk top. It looks fantastic. My only complaint is that the USB ports are now upside down. It would be nice if there was a variant of this that was designed for under-table mounting.It does not come with screws. I had to buy those myself at Ace Hardware. For those who don't plan on sticking it anywhere for good, it definitely has a fair amount of heft to it, so it won't move around even with a thick USB cable and power adapter connected.
