Stable
I haven't had any issues with this hub dropping connections or otherwise 'glitching'. Runs on 12VDC or bus power and doesn't back-power the input power from the bus. Did not use the DIN mounting clips, but they feel cheap -- would not use for mobile applications. The mounting 'ears' are sturdy, but a threaded insert would be an excellent addition here. Corners of the ears are very sharp. The industrial USB cables with DB-style screw downs are nice, but extra cables are hard to find in all the configurations you might need for non-industrial components. Note that this box is not sealed, it actually has open vents, thus the lack of an IP rating. I have not noticed this hub getting hot at all.UPDATE 2016: After 3 years of use in several applications, this has been one of the better hubs we have used, including the name-brand retail desktop hubs. So far we've only had one of about a dozen go bad, and I can't say it wasn't due to a user or installation error. We will be buying more of these for both mobile and rack-mount applications.
